What we believe
A plain statement of what Grace Fellowship teaches, and where we give one another room to differ.
We are a non-denominational, Bible-teaching church that stands within historic Christian belief. This is the short version. Our pastors are always glad to talk through any of it over coffee.
The Bible
God's trustworthy word to us.
We believe the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, without error in what they teach, and our final authority for what we believe and how we live.
Read: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119
God
One God, three persons.
There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He created everything, holds it together, and is worthy of our worship.
Read: Genesis 1; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus
Fully God and fully human.
Jesus Christ is God the Son who became human, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and now reigns as Lord.
Read: John 1:1–14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–8; Philippians 2:5–11
People
Made in God's image, broken by sin.
Every person is made in God's image and has dignity. Every person has also turned from God and needs forgiveness and new life that we cannot earn or produce ourselves.
Read: Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23
Salvation
A gift, received by trusting Jesus.
We are forgiven and made right with God by grace, through faith in Jesus alone, and not by our good works. That faith produces a changed life over time.
Read: Ephesians 2:8–10; Romans 5:1
The church
A family, not an audience.
The church is God's people, called to worship, to learn, to care for one another, and to serve the world. Each local church is led by elders and served by deacons.
Read: Acts 2:42–47; Hebrews 10:24–25
Baptism and the Lord's Supper
Two things Jesus told us to keep doing.
We baptize those who have put their trust in Jesus, and we celebrate the Lord's Supper together on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone who trusts Christ is welcome at the table.
Read: Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
Hope
Jesus will return.
Jesus will return personally and visibly, to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new. Until then we live with hope instead of fear.
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 21:1–5
Still have questions?
Have a question, or a doubt? Bring it. Our pastors would much rather hear a real question than see a polite nod.
